In the recent magazine The Journal published for the Minneapolis area is an interesting article entitled "Parking Spaces for Parklets". Written by Dylan Thomas the author discusses the transformation of parking spaces to more human traffic. He includes two tool kits on how to accomplish this change. See if this might be something your community sees as a way to increase the amount of time we linger in public spaces.
